  • A total of $175 billion is committed to new resource and resource related infrastructure projects, the majority of which are in the Pilbara (Source: WA Department of Mines and Petroleum Prospect magazine 2010)
  • 30% of the nation's exports with 0.2% of the nation's population
  • Total value of minerals and petroleum production in the Pilbara by 2018 will be approximately $211 billion.

  • May 2010: State Budget allocates resources for Pilbara Cities office
  • August 2010: Pilbara Cities office established to oversee implementation of the Pilbara Cities Vision
  • Sept 2011: Pilbara Planning and Infrastructure Framework endorsed by WA Planning Commission
