Regional Airports Development Scheme

Royalties for Regions has committed $27million until 2013-14 to boost the Regional Airports Development Scheme.
 
The objective of the Regional Airports Development Scheme (RADS) is to ensure regional aviation infrastructure and airport services are developed and maintained to facilitate air access and enhance economic growth in regional Western Australia.
 
 
RADS provides funding assistance to regional airport owners so they may:
 
  • improve access to air services, including the Royal Flying Doctor Service; and
  • provide greater opportunities for tourism, business and regional development through improved airport infrastructure.
 
RADS enables regional airports to upgrade their facilities through:
 
  • Infrastructure development projects
  • Airport master plans
  • Maintenance projects for aircraft movement areas
  • Terminal development
