Recreational Boating Facilities Scheme

The Recreational Boating Facilities Scheme (RBFS) is a State Government grants program administered by the Department of Transport. The RBFS provides grants to eligible authorities for the planning and construction of public boating infrastructure in WA which benefits recreational boat users.

The RBFS is funded from boat registration fees and, for Rounds 16-19, eligible authorities located in regional WA can apply for larger grants, with $20million allocated from Royalties for Regions over 4 years.

In May 2011 the first of four annual $5 million funding allocations from Royalties for Regions saw an unprecedented amount of funding allocated to RBFS regional projects in Round 16. Click here for a list of successful Round 16 regional RBFS projects.

In May 2012 the second of four annual $5 million funding allocations from Royalties for Regions to RBFS regional projects once again saw a high level of investment into regional recreational boating projects under Round 17. Click here for a list of successful Round 17 regional RBFS projects.
